Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party leave no stone unturned to form the Goa government. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will be the chief minister once again. The BJP has gained support from independent candidates and now has 22 seats.
Parrikar has stepped down from the post of Defence Minister. He has submitted his resignation
The Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP), one of the kingmakers in Goa after election results were announced, said that it will extend support to the BJP only if Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is brought back to the state as Chief Minister.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari flew to Panaji to hold consultations, so that BJP can easily form the government.
Parrikar went to meet Goa Governor Mridula Sinha to stake claim to form government with the letter of support from independent MLA’s and MLA’s from Maharastra Gomantak Party (MGP).
