Party leader Shaina NC lodges FIR; wants strict actions
MUMBAI: The man who sent lewd messages to BJP leader Shaina NC has been identified as Jayant kumar Singh alias Sinku. He claims to be a BJP activist from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. While the police team has gone to nab him, Shaina wants a strict action against him so that a strong message is sent to such perverts.
The accused identified as Jayant Kumar Singh is a BJP activist from Varanasi.
Shaina a fashion designer cum politician and a BJP functionary had lodged a complaint last month against Jayant Kumar Singh for sending her vulgar and obscene messages on her cell phone. According to police the accused initially sent birthday wishes to Shaina but later on the tone and write of the whatsapp messages changed . Earlier, the accused used to addressed her as sister. He started sending very lewd and objectionable messages following which which Shaina decided to teach the accused a lesson.
The Mumbai Police has registered her complaint for outraging modesty of woman and relevant sections of the Information technology (IT) Act.
Mumbai Police had even sent a team to Varanasi to get hold of him .
“I am really surprised as to how the accused was sending such dirty messages to me. What about the common women as there may be several of such people harassing the victims who not even dare to file a complaint? My purpose of registering complaint in this case was to teach him a lesson and also build a confident among many other women in our society,” said Shaina to media personals.
Shaina,s father runs a NGO.
Shaina further said that she is also likely to start a helpline through her father’s NGO which would legally help such women who are victimized and face such harassment, but somehow don’t register complaint in fear of social dignity of family and husband
“This helpline will legally help/guide victim women who are not financially and emotionally strong to fight back in such cases.” added Shaina.
Meanwhile police said that their team has almost got the accused Jayantkumar who is likely to be brought to Mumbai by Sunday.
