VVIP Guest House on the Mall Avenue Road, Lucknow is currently the most powerful address in Uttar Pradesh after Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi decided to stay put in one of its suites.
The Guest House has in the past been hosting union ministers and other dignitaries during their Lucknow sojourn. However, it could never acquire such prominence as in the last about a week after Yogi checked in with his security detail.
Yogi is yet to shift to 5 Kalidas Marg (5 KD), the official residence of state CMs, which is less than a km apart.
He is likely to move to 5 KD next week during the nine-day Navratri festival. Earlier, 5 KD was ‘purified’ according to Hindu rituals to prepare the premises for the new occupant, who is a reverred seer and heads the powerful Gorakshnath Peeth of Gorakhpur.
Post Yogi’s entry, VVIP Guest House has been getting a steady stream of high heeled visitors, including politicians, bureaucrats (both present and past), police officials etc.
Recently, SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger son Prateek and his wife Aparna had also called upon Yogi, as did Alok Ranjan, a former state chief secretary and advisor to ex-CM Akhilesh Yadav.
