Hon’ble minister chairs the State Credit seminar and releases State Focus Paper

A credit potential of 2.07 lakh crore projected for UP
The State Credit Seminar for unveiling the credit plan for 2017-18 was organized by NABARD Uttar Pradesh Regional Office today. Smt Swati Singh, Hon’ble minister (independent Charge) inaugurated the State Credit Seminar by lighting the traditional lamp.
In her address Hon’ble minister lauded the theme of the State Focus Paper and said that efforts to link Farmers to value chains was need of the hour. She also appreciated NABARD’s role in women empowerment and welfare through Self Help Groups. She stressed that the present Govt was receptive to bring in requisite changes in the statutory ecosystem leading to prosperity of Farmers.
NABARD through the State Focus paper has projected a credit potential of Rs 207903.00 crore during 2017-18 for Crop production, Animal husbandry, fisheries, water resources, plantation and horticulture, Rural Infrastructure, renewable energy, rural housing, export and education etc.
Speaking on the occasion Shri A K Panda, CGM highlighted the achievements of banking sector and requested the Hon’ble minister for waving off the e mandi license fee for Farmers Producers Organisation. Mr Panda also advocated the need for seed capital support for the FPOs. He also gave a clarion call to all the stakeholders to make concerted efforts for doubling of farmers income by 2022.
Shri Ajay Kumar, RD, RBI in his address underlined the efforts of NABARD as well as bankers in agriculture and rural development . He impressed upon the need for capital formation in agriculture in the state. He also stressed the need for increasing training and capacity building of the farmers.
Other prominent speakers included Sh B S Dhaka, General Manager & SLBC Convener and Sh PJ Ranjith, CGM & Principal Nabard Staff College, Lucknow.
The seminar was also attended by senior officers from Horticulture, Dairy, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Forestry etc as well as senior officers from various banks . Besides, select LDMs, DDMs, Community based organisations and partner agencies attended the Seminar.
Earlier Shri A K Singh General Manager welcomed the distinguished guests.
The State Focus Paper was unveiled by the Hon’ble minister and other dignitaries. Two publications “Disha” a technical handbook for allied sector financing useful for bankers and Sectoral Paper on Fisheries in Barabanki was also unveiled by the distinguished guests.
Later during the programme NABARD Gramin Samridhi Samman was presented by Smt Swati Singh to Farmers Clubs, Farmers Producer Organisations, SHGs, Bankers, RSETIs, Village Wadi Samitis from Hamirpur, Mirzapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur,Ghaziabad, Bulandsahar etc.
