Nigerian students assaulted in Greater Noida; 5 arrested !!!

Delhi : Two Nigerian brothers were thrashed and assaulted by a group inside a Greater Noida mall on Monday evening. They have suffered facial injuries and minor fractures and have been reported out of danger by doctors.

Five people were arrested today in this connection, Noida police said.

“Police have arrested 5 persons. FIR is filed, action will be taken accordingly,”said Daljeet Chaudhary, assistant director general (law and order).

 

Endurance Amarawa (21) and Precious Amalcima (24) attacked by a mob who were enraged by the death of 17-year-old student Manish Khari who died of a suspected drug overdose.

 

Locals say that Khari procured drugs from the Africans residing in Greater Noida.

 

“On Monday evening, we were shopping in Ansal Plaza when suddenly a mob attacked us. When we tried to refuge in a showroom to save ourselves, the staff refused to let us inside,” said Precious.

 

“They kept beating us viciously, hurling abuses at us, “ said Endurance.

 

Endurance is a first year BA-LLB student at Noida International University (NIU). His brother Precious has been pursuing political science from NIU for the past two years.

 

“Attack on Nigerian students (is) a serious issue. Proper probe will be done. Report will be provided to centre at earliest,” said UP minister S Nath.
