Delhi : A young Kenyan woman was pulled out of her cab attacked, thrashed and was assaulted by a group of youngsters in Greater Noida on Wednesday, the latest report of violence against Africans from the region this week.
Greater Noida has gone through the series of such violence and attacking cases against Africans, since last week.
The young student has been identified by police as Maria Burendi.
She said that she was dragged out of cab, slapped and kicked in the abdomen without any provocation by the group of youngsters near Alstonia Apartments in Sector Pi 1&2.
Further details of the alleged attack are awaited.
The young student, said to be in her 20s, was taken to a local hospital for a medical examination where doctors confirmed the possibility of an assault, with abrasions on her hands, neck, wrist and face.
The superintendent of Greater Noida’s Kailash hospital, told she was discharged after first aid, said Dr Sanil Kapoor.
Noida police is yet to register an FIR case in the present incident.
The attack is the third against Africans in Greater Noida since Sunday. Last week a 17-year-old boy died of cardiac arrest following suspected drug overdose, and local people blamed African nationals, saying they had supplied him the drugs.
