Partnership for Safe Medicine (PSM) Delegation Meets Health Minister
Lucknow, April 21, To start procurement through e-portal and centralised purchase of medicines the Uttar Pradesh government will take help of experts in the field of healthcare and consumer rights protection. To ensure quality healthcare services for all the UP government will work with Partnership for Safe Medicine (PSM) and Consumer Online Foundation.
A delegation of PSM led by its foundeer Bejon Mishra and Padam Shree Dr MM Godbole of SGPGI alongwith director of Consumer Online Foundation Piyush Mishra met with the health minister in UP cabinet Siddharthnath Singh on Friday and discussed about making healthcare services better. PSM is currently running a pilot project of universal health coverage at Mata Anandmayee Hospital in Varnasi. Recently the Jan Aaushadhi Kendra opened under this project was adjudged best among all such Kendras in the country.
Explaining about the Yogi government’s decision to open 300 Jan Aaushadhi Kendra in UP, Siddharthnath Singh sought suggestions and advice from Bejon Mishra, He said that the UP government wish to provide health insurance to all specially those in the unorganised sector. He said that state government wish people are not forced to sell their assets or take loans to get qualityhealthcare services. Bejon Mishra said that Varanasi project could become a model to provide quality healthcare service to all in UP.
