Murder case registered in IAS Anurag Tiwari’s death, family wants CBI probe !!!

Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday registered a murder case against unidentified persons in connection with Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari’s death. Tiwari’s family reached Lucknow earlier in the day to meet Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath, demanding a CBI probe into their son’s death . Tiwari was found dead outside a government guesthouse (MeeraBai Guest house) in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area on May 17 in early morning.

“An FIR has been registered in Hazratganj police station against unidentified persons in IAS officer Anurag Tiwari’s case under IPC section 302 (murder). The complaint was lodged by his brother Mayanak,” Circle Officer, Hazratganj, Avanish Kumar Mishra told.

 

Anurag’s brother Mayank, mother Sushila and wife Subhra said the CM had assured them of looking into their demand.

 

A resident of Bahraich, Anurag (36) is survived by his parents and two elder brothers Alok and Mayank.

“It is definitely a murder. The room where he (Anurag) was staying has been unlocked. His mobile phone was also found unlocked,” said Mayank.

Anurag’s mother Sushila, who is not keeping well, said: “I want an impartial inquiry into my son’s death. Only a CBI probe can bring out the truth.”

He was the commissioner in the department of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs in Bengaluru.

His family has alleged foul play his death. “My son was very honest. Corrupt officers did not like him. They must have somehow got him murdered,” Tiwari’s father BN Tiwari had alleged in Bahraich, his native place.

 

SIT- Special Investigation Team  which was constituted after his death has yet not submitted his report . Only after that report state government will take any decision regarding  CBI probe.
