State Government committed to providing better transport facilities to the people : Chief Minister / Cultural roots the soul of the country : Chief Minister

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji has said that the present state government was committed to providing better transport facilities to the people of the state and added on how since ages transport and travel have been a principal reason for development.

The Chief Minister pointed out that our cultural roots were the soul of our country and hence it was imperative for the state, country and the society to have better transport facilities, commuting becomes easy by this, he said further and pointed out that cultural unity also gets boosted.

The Chief Minister was speaking today at his official residence after the signing of an agreement between Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to strengthen bus services between the two states. Before this, the principal secretary (Transport) Government of Rajasthan Mr. Shailendra Agarwal and his UP counterpart Ms. Aradhana Shukla signed an MoU and exchanged it in presence of the chief minister.

Yogi ji also said that India was a sovereign state which was also proved by the fact that the two states have signed this agreement and recalled the greatness of Rajasthan which was known for its culture, bravery, courage and velour. He also said that both states have enjoyed a deep cultural and social relationship.

Besides, the Chief Minister pointed out, people of both states have had a deep sense of appreciation of each other’s educational institutions and cultural heritage.

The Chief Minister also pointed out how people were interested in coming to ancient city of Varanasi, Prayagraaj, Ayodhya and Mathura. Yogi ji also said that with this agreement, places like Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Meerut, Haridwar, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Agra, Aligarh, Mathura, Vrindavan, Gorakhpur, Sunauli, Jhansi, Firozabad, Kota, Bheelwara, Chittorgarh, Shri Madhopur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Vanasthali, Rupedia, Bareilly, Allahabad, Sawaimadhopur, Alwar and Kannauj, will be linked to direct bus service.

Under this agreement, there is also a facility of this bus service for going through nearby states like Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Under the agreement, on 199 routes, UP Transport Corporation’s buses can ply 56,774 km daily in Rajasthan and the Rajasthan Road Transport Corporation buses can ply on 56,558 km in UP every day.

Yogi ji also said that the state government was serious about development of the Braj region. For this, serious deliberations have been recently done with union surface transport minister Mr Nitin Gadkari about better facilities to pilgrims on the Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama route at Govardhan parvat, he informed.

The state government was also running buses in Nepal and was committed to providing accident free journey to the people, the Chief Minister further said. On this occasion, the transport minister of Rajasthan Mr Yunus Khan also spoke and lauded the UP government that within 100 days of its coming to power, such an important inter-state agreement was being signed.

MoS (transport) Independent Charge Mr. Swatantra Dev Singh said that the state government was committed to making the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ concept of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi a success.

Also present on the occasion were deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Labour Minister Mr. Swamy Prasad Maurya, Khadi industries minister Mr. Satyadev Pachauri, social welfare minister Mr. Ramapati Shastri, technical education minister Mr. Ashutosh Tandon, Ministers of State Mr. Upendra Tiwari, Mrs. Swati Singh, Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, MD of Rajasthan Road Transport Corporation Mr. Kuldeep Ranka, UPSRTC Chairman Mr. Praveer Kumar, Transport Commissioner Mr. K Ravindra Naik and other senior officers of the district administration and the state government.
